I had the 0400 to 0700 watch. The only thing of interest was a cruise ship that passed, looking like a small island. We arrived in Virgin Gorda about 1500. We picked up a mooring in a place called Bitter End. After tidying up the lines, Marty, Erika, and I went for a swim. This place is very beautiful and well protected. My watch last night was uneventful but the seas were pretty big so I thought it prudent to hook into the harness for the duration. I was woken up by Marty around 0600 to help put another reef in the Main. I could tell during the night that the winds were picking up. I think the main problem is that the seas are hitting us more or less on our beam which means that we are prone to breaching and yawing as we go over from trough to crest of the waves. If the waves were much bigger, we would be forced to alter course and cut through them more head on. It has been a wet day and the waves crash...
