We then drove to Tauranga and had a pumpkin soup lunch by the sea with a view of mount Maunganui. I had a nap and Garth went for a long walk. We then took a stroll around Moturiki Island before going to Duane's parents (Barbra and Jack) house in Pyes Pa (with a little help from tourist information)!
Our van comes with lots of maps and guides, but it's more of a nationwide map and has little or no town maps which makes life a little hard!
We had not met Barbra and Jack before but Duane said we could stay at theirs. Their house was amazing! Most houses in NZ are one floor (bungalow) which theirs was, but it was perfect and modern with large glass walls with a city view with a glimpse of the mountain and sea on the horizon. They had a large open kitchen, dining room, living room where we enjoyed a fab chicken pasta with home grown salad! They had home group in the evening if which we were the youngest members. Although very random, it was good to be in a home group and to sing songs that we sing in the UK! There was no formal word so to speak but we were prayed for to have safe travels and success when we return home. At the end we got chatting to a Chilean lady which was fun. We slept super well in our luxury room with power shower!
