Garth first ferry ride was safe. There was a strong mist in the middle of the strait but it was lovely and sunny on the south island. Garth even bumped into a girl he used to work with in the ferry! Random!
We drove to Blenhiem stopping at McDs to check emails and went to Traminer View B&B which is the home of Rose's parents. It was so beautiful. They have a vineyard on their land where the grapes make her niece's wine Lana. They had 3 beautiful rooms with amazing large ensuits - we were in the back room. We skyped Rose to say thanks for having us as we left before they had woken up. Then Margaret recommended doing some wine tasting as there are so many vineyards in the local Marlborough area.
We visited a chocolate factory and tried some yummy fudge. We tried an amazing passion fruit Sauvignon blanc at Saint Clare's and bought a bottle as a treat. We visited Adam Scott's, a yummy fudge shop where Garth fell in love with a creme brûlée fudge and bought some! We finished at Hali winery and went back after a lovely afternoon!
Nick was home and we had amazing burgers from the BBQ. Nick and Margaret have 7 children and 15 grandchildren! He is a full time GP and Margaret runs the B&B and Vineyard - amazing! We learnt a lot about wine! Nick went to his barbershop quarter practice and Margaret to her book club. I enjoyed a long hot bath! (was in for 2 hours!) and Garth enjoyed some TV with the cat!! What a blessing to stay somewhere so beautiful!
