We woke after 5 and left for the 2.5 hour drive to Milford sound. Although the first half was in the dark, the second half of the drive was utterly stunning!!! (maybe more impressive than Milford itself!) there were huge mountains either side, snow capped and with rainforest next to us. The sun was shining and it was soo impressive. A 1km tunnel through a mountain was a little daunting though!
We were there in good time so had breakfast before boarding our juicy cruise boat. They had free tea and coffee, so Garth was happy.
We spent 1.5hrs sailing out to the Tasmin Sea and back. I wasn't massively impressed because of the stout there were only the 2 standard waterfalls rather than the hundreds that appear when it rains. I think Guilin in China was much more impressive. HOWEVER, a huge highlight for me was seeing a group of dolphins swim beside us! That was amazing! We also saw seals chilling on rocks and the actin drive us right under the foot of a waterfall which left us a lite wet! (I kinda hope it rains for mum and dad when they go so they can see the thousands of waterfalls!)
We drove back stopping for lots of photos of the stunning mountains. We also stopped at The Chasm which was really cool!
We stayed at the same campsite again enjoying hot showers and wifi. Garth even made me a steak!! (what a treat)
