Hey gang. It's Manuel again, alive from the dead. I just visited with the doctor and ruled out the following: No malaria, yippee!! No Avain Flu (bird flu), stoked!! Just a simple gastrointestinal bacteria. Extremely painful and uncomfortable, but not life threatening. So the trek continues...I'm supposed to be relieved from the hospital tomorrow morning at which time I will continue to be on medications for the infections for four or five days. Not completely recovered, but well on my way. It looks like we are leaning toward deciding to continue our trip as we still have one major stretch to undertake, Taiwan. The surf is supposed to be good there we've become desperate for surf. First though release, second southern portions of Thailand then Taiwan.
