The adventures of Manny and Melly
Melanie here. I am writing just before bedtime here and at home it's just now after 8 in the morning. Well it looks like Manuel will finally leave the hospital tomorrow. He's feeling much better, but still not 100%. The doc says it will probably take a few days. It should be interesting going back out into society after being in here for 3 days. I feel like I've been in a fishbowl. The only time I've left is to get food (Starbucks-if you can imagine that, as we've both been paranoid about eating much else) and to use the internet one time. I couldn't justify doing anything else with Manuel being sick and I wouldn't have had much fun without him anyway. I am so happy he's finally feeling better. Our experience at the hospital was a good one ,considering. The facility and staff have been very nice. The prices are unbelievable. The most expensive room at the hospital is still only $40 a day!!! Healthcare should be this affordable in the U.S. Thank goodness Manuel got travel insurance, so no worries there. We think we may stay in Chiang Mai for a few days to look into some more healthcare stuff such as dental work, since the prices are so good. I got a cleaning and 2 fillings for under $30. We will finish up this stuff and then go to the southern part to relax on some beaches. We may forego Taiwan and just come home a little early. We are still deciding. I'll keep everyone posted. Oh the post dated July 2 is wrong. It should be Feb. 7. Manuel got confused. The dates here read 07/02/06 instead of 02/07/06. They do it backwards from us.
