Another day of listening to some awesome speakers. We went to: Chingchai Uckrongtham, Craig Bingman, Kevin Kohen, Dana Riddle and John Coppolino. Whew, big day lol
We spoke for some time with Chingchai and all he wanted to know is when we were going to be in Bangkok again. Having seen the full start to finish of his awesome tank it might have to be sooner rather than later.
We took another cruise round the vendors and before we knew it it was time to get ready for the formal dinner.
Apparently "formal" means you wear your best shorts, thongs and maybe stretch it to a collared t shirt lmao
We actually brought a suit for Pete and he was very much in the minority in dressing up, ah well he looked hot so it was worth it IMO :-)
The dinner was quite good for one of those sorts of mass catered things and the speakers were terrific. The MC, Richard Ross is a marine biologist currently working at the Steinhart Aquarium in California. In a former life he was a juggler so he entertained us with a knife juggling act which, like all of his MC'ing was pretty funny.
The key note speaker was Dr Richard Pyle with footage of his dives in South Africa looking for the previously thought to be extinct massive coelacanth. Again very entertaining. The search was being filmed for Nat Geo and he said he was working on just the right thing to say when he saw one but when he actually did all that planning fell apart and all he could say, several times over, was holy s*** there a coelacanth lol All said in a high pitched voice cos of the helium in the tri mix they were breathing due to the extreme depths.
The dinner finished kinda early, 10pm, so we took ourselves off to the bar. We got talking to all sorts of awesome people including a long session of chatting and drinking with John Coppolino, Paul from Sea Dwelling Creatures, Heath and others who were probably, like us, not going to be in good shape come Sunday morning. It was 5.30am when we finally admitted defeat and headed to bed.

Dee Wow big session!! And I'm talking about the socialising, not the actual conference stuff lol!! Sounds like an awesome event.
Sue Ah yeah lol We are used to long nights /early mornings but usually without the drinking, it makes a huge difference!
