Day 7
5AM start today for our flight to Sandakan.
Yes Aileen today we get to see Monkeys!
We went for a meal at a place called the rainforest inn last night... Never, never, never, NEVER go there!
I ordered garlic bread with my meal... Let's just say Gordon would have had plenty of F words to say about this place.
I bit into a piece of the bread and it was soggy and tasted rank... I turned it over and discovered why... Lovely blue and green mold! (it's making me feel sick talking about it!)
We get to see the orang-utan today... I don't think I have ever been so pleased to see something Ginger!
We have just seen the orang - utan!! Never have you heard so many girls going ahhh!
To be fair they were pretty tremendous!
Then we had a 2 hour drive to our new camp. It's sad that for the whole two hours travel we were basically passing through one big palm oil plantation.
Take a look on google earth and see how wrecked Saba is for yourself.
Tonight we went on a cruise along the river outside camp. There were long tailed Makaks, Proboscis Monkeys, egrets, goshawks, a big lizard a little like a monitor and...
Pigmy elephants!!! I have seen more wildlife today than we have the whole trip so far... It's been great!!
Right bed time at 9:07 as it's another 5am start... Morning river cruse then a walk to an ox bow lake.
(David is really regretting not buying his own mosquito net!! This place is full of bugs! I will sleep soundly under mine!)
