Day 4 6:30 start again!!When Stephen Fry said waking up to the noises of the jungle was one of the most fantastic experiences he obviously had a BBC crew carry his pack, didn't sleep between two fidgety girls or share the space with Fu*ing noisy Chinese people...cáo zá shēng shǎ bī!!Considering the Chinese have been up since well before 5 it is now 7:20 and the fekers are still here!We are now all sat down for breakfast... I am glad to see that everyone looks as blurry eyed as I feel! Remarkably everyone seems to be in good spirits! And I have spotted beans and sausages for breakfast!I need more coffee!Sausages my arse! Halal chicken sausages.... Blurrrgh!Today we were due to walk along the base of the Mulu gorge but the river and the current is still too high. So we walked along the head hunter trail to the monkey bridge. 8k out and 6 back... In thick canopy jungle... There were no men in black pyjamas for us to go eyeball to eyeball with but it was thick canopy jungle none the less.I now know why Mr Attenborough does not take blonde girls on his documenters with him... After they have finished freaking out about the imaginary something that landed on them all the wild life is on the next continent! However we did see what I thought was a bearded dragon (male and a female) a green racer snake perched in a tree, a tiny black and white snake racing for cover, lots of assorted beetles and centipedes and tiger leaches! One of our group got bitten quite badly... Which was highlighted by his white socks! I bought some salt for dissuading leaches... It also has MSG in it too so they will taste better once you get them off you.Oddly I had a sneezing fit, my nose started to run uncontrollably and my lips and nose felt hot and started to tingle! I am ok now though!Once we were back at camp it was straight in the river again... I attempted to swim to the other side but was severely handicapped when my shorts decided to part company with me... I would like to point out that the water here is VERY cold. The evening meal was great and I think everyone has started to bond a little more as a group. I still think everyone in the group is sound! They have all gone off for a night walk... I had to dress Lisa she is not good with zips bless her.I am sure I will be able to hear her scream from here! I have not gone because there has been definite chafing! So I am going to rub some lotion in and turn in early as we have got an 8k back to the boats tomorrow.Really hope someone has got a photo of Emma in her leach socks!
