Day 8 Kinabatangan river.

Today we were up early in the morning for another cruise along the river... No elephants this time.

It's really pissing me off that my 70 - 300 lens is broken!

More monkeys and hornbills!!

After breakfast we took a walk to an Ox bow lake. Various bugs and a pigmy frog... Nobody got stuck in the mud though!

When we came back I went kayaking with Jess... I can see now why Sean didn't want to get into a kayak with the fidgety easily distracted person he married!

It was not too bad though... We explored a small tributary on the opposite side of the main channel. I decided it is called the Nigel river. (it's probably a good job I was not a Victorian explorer... There would be allot of places and things called Nigel!)

Lisa went off to plant two trees... The heavens opened... Oddly the people that went to plant trees got wetter than I did kayaking! (we saw the storm coming and went back... We were drinking tiger beer when the storm hit.)

There was an evening river cruise. We saw crocodiles a snake and more monkeys!

The others went off on a night walk. Toney summed it up for me in the morning. "you didn't miss much... Just a couple of birds on a branch!"
