PUBLIC BATHROOM EXPERIENCE!!! WARNING!!

Eventually I was convinced to go along to the public bathroom or Jimjilbang (찜질방) with Jess, Michelle and Liz! What an experience! SO we paid our 8,000 won so thats about £4 then went through to get our locker and remove our shoes. As soon as you enter through the double doors there is just naked women everywhre, even the little woman at the mini shop selling beauty products was naked! Its such a strange feeling becuase its so natural to them they have been doing it since they were babies so you feel a bit daft that you think is strange. So we got to our lockers which were spead out along the different corridors so I had no idea if we were to get undressed here or if we were going somewhere else!!! So I had to shout down the corrider to one of the girls to ask....just as I asked they all came swinging round the corner in their birthday suits! Took the hint! So next you head through to the spa through huge double glass doors....ofcourse no privacy needed! Then thats you in naked land! Felt very strange at first..you don't know where to look, you don't know what to do! First we went into a huge pool that was roasting hot and I think it had something in it like green tea (hahaha) or something!! I dunno! Was fantastic anyway! Obviously we attracted some attention from the korean woman as the saw our wee blue bodies wondering about but they soon got used to it and some were even brave enough to come into the same pool as us haha! There must have been about 6 different bathing pools, all different temperatures...some bloody freezing! A few had the super strong jets for a back massage which were amazing...had to drag myself out of those pools could have stayed there forever! You could go outside...don't panic I don't mean for a wonder down the street, you're on the 3rd floor so its like a big terrace with 2 pools and loungers to sit under the heat lamps....although its korea it still pretty cold when your wet outside! Nice to sit and look at the stars aawwww! :-) We then moved on to the sauna's and steam rooms of which there were 4....amazing! I love a good sauna, these saunas are huge...i've only ever been in those pokey little saunas at home where you're all crammed in! These were just huge rooms!

The baths were amazing, and there were so many too although I wish I knew the names of some of the pools (since I can only read the Hangul at this point, but have absolutely no idea what they mean in English), I just pounced around, going from one bath to another, having an honestly good time and feeling very relaxed. UNTIL!!! Dum dum dummmmmmmm! The girls had been telling about how they all have been for a scrub and massage by an Ajumma (older korean lady) in their uunderwear, they said that I really have to do it since its the most korean thing you can do! They told me it would be sore but it would be worth it in the end and for only 10,000 won! So ofcourse not one to turn down a challenge I went and got my 10,000 won and sauntered on over to the massage room. I pointed to the board and asked for the 10,000 won scrub....this bird was having none of it, she kept slapping me on the chest (Yes my naked chest!) and telling me to get the 17,000 won scrub which obviously had a few extras thrown in but I stood my ground "Anio Anio!!" and kept pointing to my back! Oh by the way I'm naked!! Having a big naked arguement with an Ajumma in wierd underwear!! Really guys come to Korea hahaha! So eventually she gives in and tells me to wait in the nearest pool, so I sat there watching my life flash before me when this mini hitler comes to get me! Kackin my pants (if I had any!)!!! So we get to this pink rubber bed and she starts hosing it down and saying stuff to me in Korean, then the crazy bird from the board gives me a swift smack on the arse....never moved so fast in my life I almost leaped on to that bed! Lying there trying to relax as she faffs about around me when I notice her puting on these industrial exfoliating gloves.....never seen anything like it! Oh sh*$! Obviously being a lady :-) I lay with my legs together...she soon sorted that grabbing my ankles and putting me into a more compromising position aarrgghh! So she started on my legs and feet and starts scrubbing away....honestly thought my skin was bleeding! I could actually picture each layer of skin coming off as she scrubbed! I could tolerate the pain though...one of those wierd pains that is sore but good! So she's working her way up my legs...im thinking how is she gonna handle this she's gettin pretty close to.... well you know the Foofoo!! But she just keeps scrubbing as close as you can really get! Then she's giving the cheeks a scrub then she's.... well inbetween!!! I could feel a heart attack coming on! The rest wasnt too bad....just a little rough when moving my arms back and forth! The last bit was horrible tho....she gave this wierd slapping massage and kept putting all her weight on certain parts including my lower back which I have some problems with (paid for it the rest of the week I was in absolute agony!) So she hosed me down and I lay there waiting for her to tell me to go then the crazy one came back over for another slap! GGRR! Returned to the girls who were in stitches at my poor red body!

We headed back through to the changing room to dry off and moisturise, I was slapping it on!! You then put on these wierd bright pink PJ's and go through to the sort of living room, its just like a huge dance studio but with pillows and TV! This is where you meet the guys...they are in their little blue PJ's too and just lying about sleeping and watching tv. We went into an Ice room, pretty good just like sitting in a freezer, the walls are covered in frost/ice. So many more rooms surrounding the living room such as sleeping rooms and rooms with fires etc There was also a Dr Fish, but it wasn't open....basically you sit with your feet in a tank of fish that suck all the dead skin cells off your feet! So wanna try it!!

Will def be back!! Not for a scrub tho!!!!
