today was such a busy day!! I had my lost symbols and secret codes in art class 9 to 11:30. and we went on a field trip to San Miniato church which was absolutely beautiful! it was really really interesting! the church was built for sinners, that is why there isn't a lot of lighting and it is very dark inside. it was built around the same time as the duomo. the union that built it put their symbol(the eagle) everywhere through the church. and they had 3 windows that were portals to the heavens. and so much other cool stuff. then after that class i had my italian grand tour class 12-230. which was cool and interesting. we went on a mini field trip just for about 20 minutes and the professor showed us where the tourists use to walk through the city and everything which was cool because so many of the buildings are still the same and its just crazy to think how it all has lasted sooo many years. then i had my venice film festival class from 3 to 530. which we watched some clips from films that were in the 40s and talked about italy during that time frame-how the politics influenced the movies that won. needless to say wednesday are my long days. which isn't bad, but its just because the classes are so long. and the downside to it all is that i still feel sick and being outside in the rainy cold air this morning probably doesn't help my cold at all.
