today was suchhh a long day! but sooo much fun! we started off in the morning with a 3 hour walking tour of some of the sights. We started out at the Basilica di Santa Maria Novella and the Piazza Santa Maria Novella, which is right across the street from where our hotel was. (the photos show the progression of where i went) then we walked down via della spada and passed the Palazzo Strozzi then continued down the via de'Tornabuoni where we crossed the ponte santa trinita which was beautiful because we could see the ponte vecchio and what I later realized my apartment windows! then we went to the Chiesa di San Spirito and the Piazza San Spirito. then we walked down via mazzetta then we went to the piazza pitti and the palazzo pitti which were goregous!!! then we walked over the ponte vecchio which was breathtaking! then we went to the Uffizi Gallery and the open air statues which were breathtaking...at this point my hands went basically numb because it was damp n wicked windy so i stopped taking photos (but i have plenty of them scattered throughout the days) then we went up to the Duomo which is just jaw dropping and eventually made our way back to the hotel. We grabbed some lunch which was wicked good, i don't even like eating tomatoes but i ate them and i haven't stopped because they are sooo delicious and fresh! we actually got some free chocolate too which was wicked nice and yummy! then i went back to the room and passed out for like 2 hours because i was sooo tired and i was freezing cold! then about 30 min after i woke my roommate came in! she got delayed too bc of the weather in frankfurt and she had to stay overnight there. it was soo awesome to finally meet her! then we had an orientation session where we met the other girls! it was really exciting to meet the other girls too! we all get along sooooooo well! after the orientation we all went out to dinner together at a restaurant where you just pay for a drink and then eat all you want so that was wicked nice! i was the only one that actually like the drink, i got a rossini which i'm not sure exactly what it is but it was superrrr good! walking back we passed the duomo at night which was positively gorgeous again! and it will never get old that is for sure! i went out that night with some other girls that i met through the program and we went to this bar called Napolini i think and it was like a local italian hang out spot which was wicked cool and interesting
