Harry Potter was Amazing!
Last night an entire group of us went to see the latest Harry Potter movie which came out yesterday in the UK. I have now read all the books, except the last one, which comes out next week! It's rather strange, but I have become an avid fan in the course of several weeks. The books are amazing and so riveting. I hope that I can write books that get kids excited about reading like J.K. Rowlings. The movie was excellent as well, but not quite as good as the book, of course. It was amazing watching the film in Oxford, where a lot of the movie was actually filmed. The audience dynamic was unlike any other movie that I have ever been to in the theatre before. It was such a unique experience!
Today we took our last field trip, to Glastonbury and Wells. The bus drive was the worse part, over two and a half hours, which was made even worse by awful traffic. However, it was worth it. Glastonbury was basically the ruins of the abbey. It is the location where Arthur is rumored to have buried. Of course, although it is a site of Christian roots, it also has pagan roots, which was interesting as it manifested itself in the present times. We found a fun bakery for lunch, which was yummy! I have been eating way too many sweets and breads here. But then again, I think all the walking I have been doing has evened things out. Wells had an amazing Cathedral, which I felt was actually the most impressive on the outside. Out of all the ones I've seen in the last few weeks, it certainly had the most beautiful exterior. I feel like between the movie and the Cathedral I have had my mouth hanging open all the time the last few days.
