Yesterday we visited Hampton Court Palace! The traffic was awful getting there, so we got there over a hour late. However, we still had time to see some of the palace and the grounds. It was huge, so there was absolutely no way we could see everything in a couple of hours. For me the most fascinating part was the outside of the palace and the gardens. The flowers, as you can see from some of my pictures, were beautiful. Me and Elise, another girl from the program, also took on the maze, which supposedly is famous. We both thought that we would get out in no time, but it took us about 20 minutes to find our way back out. The weirdest part was that they had speakers in the bushes that kept saying things in strange voices when we least expected them. Of course, we also got a kick out of the King's velvet covered toilet which was on display. It seemed to be a popular day for field trips, as the entire place was over run with school children. We went into the gift shop and than had to wait 10 minutes to buy the things we wanted because an entire class of children were in line in front of us. It was a long day, so I was glad to get back here to The Vines.
More later, but I have to get started on papers now....
