Hey everyone! sorry I haven't written in a while. Its just been so busy now that the days are winding down. Im excited and not at the same time. I have fallen in love with London, but I will always love philly, and there is no place like home. So..here is my update from thanksgiving on...
Thanksgiving: slightly stressful for everyone since we are cooking dinner for over 25 people. I did not partake in the stress that much since I had to go pick up my roomie nikki from the train station. She was spending the weekend with me which I was very happy about. Thanksgiving overall was good. The food was surprisingly very nice. weird right! 20 year olds can cook!? who knew?lol. anyways, thanksgiving was alright. It was the first time I spent a holiday away from my family though which wasn't fun. You really take for granted how much you love your family. It was upsetting not being around people I really care and love and who love me in return. I can't wait to be around everyone again!
The day after Thanksgiving I took Nikki around London. We went to the Tower of London which holds the crown jewels which was really cool, and did a tour through that. I took her over Tower Bridge, the London eye, up through St. James' Park, by the HM Treasury buildings and war memorial. Overall it was fun. That night (friday) we went out with my flat and their friends who had come to visit. It was apparently a really fun night, although my memory is a little fuzzy about it.lol (sorry mom). Saturday we woke up a little late and after getting Nikki her full english breakfast we went to Camden Market where we shopped for a little then got back on the tube and went to Buckingham Palace, Trafalger Square, Big Ben, parliament, Westminster and the Millenium Bridge. Overall it was a lot of fun. Nikki being here was great and I miss her a lot. I cant wait to party and live with her again in the spring. She's honestly one of the best roomates ever.
Sunday Nikki left and I was left to working on my Politics presentation for the next couple days. Tuesday we had class all day, and Wednesday I presented for my politics class (which went very well) and then we all went to Greenwich. The prime meridian runs through Greenwich, so we took our sterotypical pictures of that lol. Wednesday night we all kind of passed out since we had been staying up so late and slept till about noon the next day. Thursday (yesterday) we didn't do much. I went for a run and tried to organize my life lol. Some of the girls went to Harrods which by the way if I was rich would be the death of me. It is like the Macy's in New York but about 1000 times better and more expensive lol. Still very cool though. Oh, and mom, I took pictures for you of the display windows since every year you tell how "when you used to work down in the city and on your lunch break you would go and look at all the store windows... etc"lol.
Today Im working on some more homework (I have 4 papers due next week) and then were going out to a club to celebrate one of the girls birthdays. Apparently Billy Idol could be our DJ tonight lol. Should be fun. I will hopefully put up more pics and update you with my Ireland trip soon. Just wanted to update you on the London stuff going on. 13 days! Im excited to come home. I miss and love everyone!
