Hey everyone. Sorry I haven't updated in about a week. The wireless internet is horrible here. So now that I finally can be online for more than about two mintues, I am updating.
So my last update was about Stonehenge and Bath (both awesome) and the Thames River Festival (probably the coolest thing we have done so far). so...this past week...nothing too big has happened, or at least that is incrediablly exciting.
Monday I ran, did laundry, sorted through pictures and all that fun junk that doesnt really have an value but has to be done anyways. Tuesday we had class which was, well...class.
Wednesday we had class and then went to see some of Christopher Wren's Churches. I think this would have had more value to me had they not all be re-built or replicas. A lot of the original churches were destroyed in the great fire or in the bombings of WWII. We did see St. Pauls church which was an amazing piece of archetectual design. The inside is like nothing I have ever seen before. I hurt my neck trying to just take everything in from the ceilings. Most of the amazing artwork (the glass mosaics and stain glass windows) were not part of Wren's original design. But regardless it was still amazing to see. I felt like I was standing in St. Peters Basicilca, thats how beautiful the inside was. I really wish they would allow you to take pictures inside so I could show you all. Regardless, it was amazing.
Wednesday night I went out with my new british friend Jon Dean, who took me to a jazz club in covet gardens. The place was really nice and the jazz was phenominal. Later we met up with my friends at a local pub and watched a futbol match and just socialized.
Thursday was a relaxing day. I think all of us were really tired and lack of sleep has been catching up with us.
Friday we were suppose to go to Oxford, but lack of planning and decision making lead to everyone doing their own thing. Me, ali, peter, price, brian and Kaitlyn went to Abbey Road. It was really fun and exciting. The only bad thing is that (shocker) it's an actual road, and it was difficult to avoid being hit by cars. We did manage to get the shot, but I don't have the photos yet. It was fun though, and I'm glad I got to relive a beatles experience. lol.
Saturday was homework and cleaning up the apartment, and later that night all of us went to a club in covet gardens. We met up with Jon Dean and his brother and had a really fun night. Some of the girls got waaayyy too drunk, so like the good friends we are, had to walk them home and take care of them. Be proud mom, I wasn't drunk at all. I actually am responsible regardless of what you might think.lol.
Yesterday was more homework and paper writing as well as trying to plan our big fall break trip to Italy, or Spain or wherever else people seem to be going now.
We have only had one day or rain so far which has been amazing, and the weather is awesome. I am loving it here and am looking forward to the next two and a half months here. Although I miss home terribly.
Thank you mom for sending some american food. I savor every tastycake cupcake as if it were my last. And I now have a new appreciate for grape jelly. lol. Which is horribly sad, but oh well.
I miss and love you all! Please keep in touch!
Love you always,
Sarah
