So...I havent updated in forever and a lot has happened....sorry for the delay...Ive just been horribly busy. This blog will be an update on everything from when I got back from Italy to before I left for Berlin. Tomorrow I will update with Berlin and Madrid. Enjoy!
So...I get back from Italy on October 20th which is a Saturday. The next 2 days are just spent replying to emails, uploading pictures and just relaxing from a long 10 days of traveling. Tuesday Oct 23rd we have class all day and on Wednesday we get a tour of parliament. Parliament was pretty cool. We had seen video of Prime Ministers questions (something I really would love to see America do) and it was interesting actually being on the floor of where these heated and often entertaining debates take place. Overall, an interesting tour. Thursday Im actually really not sure what we did. Probably nothing and just stayed in and hung around. Friday a bunch of us girls went to a bar and had a good time. The bar was really crowded, and dancing was difficult, but it was a good time. Saturday a group of us went to Windsor Castle which was really fun. Windsor is a really cool little town that sort of reminds me of old newtown. The castle is huge, and its hard to imagine actually living in a house so large. Do you really need 300 rooms? The outside courtyards are georgeous and the inside is equally as luxurious. The day was fun, and Im glad we went. One more thing crossed off my list lol.
The following week was very relaxed as well. Sunday and Monday were spent uploading more pictures and such and doing, Im not really sure what lol. Tuesday was just another day of class and wednesday we took a tour of the globe theater. The Globe theater isn't actually the real Globe theater. As I am sure most of you know, the real one burnt down during a production. This replica seemed fairly accurate though and our tour guide was very entertaining. I felt better about hating to analyze Shakspeare in school because our tour guide said that all the over analaysis takes away from the true essence of the plays message. After the tour Price and I decided to tag along on the Jack the Ripper tour for the Lit class.
The tour was fairly dissapointing and I felt like we really didnt see anything significant. We did however go to a Indian resturant where I tried curry for the first time. It actually wasn't that bad. I enjoyed it for the most part. lol. After our long dinner and our very short and poor tour, we headed back to the flat where everyone was getting dressed up for Halloween. Since this was a horribly unprepared Halloween my makeshift costume was a "pirate"lol. We all got dressed up as best we could and ended up having a really good night just dancing to the Monster Mash and watching Halloween on tv. Over-all Halloween was a success. It wasn't as good as it would have been in the states (they don't really celebrate Halloween here) but it was still fun our way.lol.
The following morning I leave for Berlin, so I will update that tomorrow. I am fairly sick right now, so I do need my rest, but I added some more pics in my London album that you can check out. Love and miss you all!!!
