We started Thursday morning by walking up Baldwin Street, which is the steepest street in the world. I did aim to run up it but upon seeing it quickly changed my mind. The next stop was at the Moeraki Boulders, which are huge great spherical rocks scattered across the seashore. They were really strange and looked like giant alien eggs that had been dropped from the sky. We then continued our journey to Lake Tekapo, which is a tiny village on the edge of a beautiful lake, surrounded by the southern alps. I found the church that I want to get married in and we went for a nice walk around the lake. Lake Tekapo is renowned for being best place in the world to view the stars of the southern hemisphere so we took full advantage of this opportunity and went on a stargazing tour at the top of Mount John. Several universities have telescopes at the top of this mountain and we had the privilege of being able to use them. The views of the sky were amazing and we learnt loads about different constellations and were taught a bit about astrophotography.
