On Wednesday we left Queenstown and headed for Dunedin, which is known as the 'Edinburgh of the South' (although to be honest I'm not exactly sure why!). We only had one afternoon here so after having a quick look at the most photographed building in New Zealand (a railway station) we headed off to the Otago Peninsula on the Elm Wildlife Tour. This tour was absolutely fantastic and we got to see albatross, fur seals, hooker sea lions (which weigh 400 kg!!!!), yellow-eyed penguins (the rarest penguins in the world), blue penguins (the smallest penguins in the world) and hundreds of other species of bird. I have decided that I would quite like to own a sea lion, so don't be too surprised if Katy is replaced by one on the journey home! The tour lastest until well past sunset so sadly we had to say goodbye to Dunedin without really being able to explore much of the city.
