So, this is my first journal entry. I don't really know how these things work, but here it goes.
I got here on Monday afternoon. Jessica and I took a cab from Heathrow, and on the cab ride to Spitalfields we basically had heart attacks because we were so excited. We drove past Buckingham Palace and down the Royal Road. It was amazing and really surreal. When we got to our apartment we put our stuff down and immediately went to the closet pub, The Pipeline, (of course) for a beer and some food. I accidentally ordered a plate full of uncooked meat. Oops. I guess that's what happens when you don't know what a word means and you are too lazy to ask. I learned my lesson.
The rest of the day we basically unpacked and ran errands. We attempted to go out at night, but we were so tired and couldn't find any places nearby that were all that entertaining so we went home.
On Tuesday we had to go to our program's orientation (EUSA). Then in the afternoon we went on a walking tour and saw Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, St. Paul's, The Parliament, Covent Garden, and lots of other fun things. We didn't get to go inside any of the buildings though so we will have to go back! We also saw some talk show host walking on the street - a local celebrity. Jessica and I went to Pizza Express for dinner. It was yummy. Tuesday night we went to bed early and it was great.
Wednesday was a day of complaining. I think that we were all really tired, and it finally kicked in. We had to go pick up a scavenger hunt assignment from EUSA, which none of us wanted to do. We also realized that a lot of the things EUSA told us were included in our package were not included. Surprise! That night we went to The Foundation. It was really cool. We had a lot of fun, but we didn't stay out very late. There was a group of about 20 of us, so of course when the alcohol started to kick in we started chanting Iowa cheers. Embarrassing. There was another school there that tried to chant back, but obviously they had nothing on us. I'm sure all the British people at that club just LOVED us loud, annoying Americans. There are so many great halarious stories from this night. London is fun.
This morning I had my interview at L'Oreal. It went great! I got the job! However, it is the most intimidating place EVER. Every single person there looks like a supermodel. The clothes people wear are amazing. I want to be like them. Magically. Overnight. Think that's possible?
Well, now it's time to go on this scavenger hunt. Hopefully it won't be as bad as we are expecting it to be!
That's all for now. Cheers!

Shannon You'll be great at L'Oreal. Don't worry about the stupid supermodels, because you're prettier.
