In the morning we slowly got our stuff together, as has been the case for most of this trip, once we had got to the European mainland, there had not been a need for urgency. We still left the site early and headed up the road to find that the planned route was closed and the route that we (and other vehicles) had to take was a small white road on the atlas. The turbo in the engine showed its worth and we made it over the small pass in the the final valley before the mount blanc tunnel. We faced the Mountains and felt insignificate in their presence. The mount blanc and its glaciers towered above us as we climbed the hairpins into the tunnel. Soon the tunnel came to an end and we are in Italy. We descend about half way down the valley for a night halt and ended a glorious day.
