Here we needed a break, so we stopped for 6 nights. On arrival at the site we met up with another English Family (Tracy and Ian Harris) that where heading up through Italy towards to the UK having taken a year out to travel around Europe. The campsite had all the standard facilities open and specifically a pool where Adrian and Rebecca played with the children (Georgia and Jade) and cooled off. We had a meal around the motorhome of the Harris' please as we were to have some english conversion at the campsites which has been missing for some time.
The night before the Harris set off north to France a classic car race came through the village, however Adrian and Rebecca were to tired for the late night so we just listened to the sound of large V12 engine sports cars driving through the the Italian countryside.
The next day the Harris set off and we off on a walk to the town on the end of the lake which we were told was about 40 minutes bike ride away. This meant it turned out to be 6km in length but the children did well. There were still some tail end charlies bring up the rear of the classic car race driving through town. We grabbed a quick pancake for lunch and then got a cab back as it had started to rain (which has been a rare thing in Italy so far).
The next day we decided to walk up the lake shore to the other village which we have been told would be a shorter walk. It was, but the day was hotter. We finally reached the village (a lovely little place with "city walls" and stopped in a resturant where we had the best value for money meal so far in the area. A bus journey back and a quick dip in the pool.
The final day was just a day of rest hanging around the campsite and we were ready to go.
