Hi all,
We've been in Sydney now for just over a week, and have done so much! Friday the 2nd was the last day of our tour where we drove from Port Stephens to Sydney. We drove over the Harbour Bridge and round to Mrs Macquaries Chair, which has a viewing point across the harbour to the bridge and Opera House. We had our last photos taken there with our new friends and then moved on to Kings Cross, where the tour ended.
After all the goodbyes we made our way across Sydney to our hostel, where we have been now for 9 days. In the evening we met up with Sjoerd and Dan; two of the guys from our tour group, and went for dinner at a tapas bar in Oxford Street. After dinner we said our goodbyes and headed our seperate ways.
Since then we have done a lot of sight seeing around the city. We have visited the Opera House (where they had a group of freerunners performing outside to a big crowd), Harbour Bridge, The Rocks Markets, took a sightseeing tour around the city and around Bondi Beach, visited the Royal Botanical Gardens, Museum of Contemporary Art, took a tour up the Sydney Sky Tower, Cockle Bay Wharf and Harry's Cafe de Wheels.. a pie shop which is an institution here in Sydney, which has been going for 51 years now and has had loads of famous customers.
On our first monday night in the hostel, Rosanna suggested we go to a killer pool competition at a local bar.. which i ended up winning out of 30 or so people.. and won us a $50 bar tab. All in a nights work!
Anyway, that's it for now.. the weather has been pretty rubbish here so we are planning our next move.. we will be returning to Sydney on 13th December though to finish off what we've started and enjoy Xmas and New Years!
