Hi all,
Right, so last time we updated we were heading from Perth to Adelaide. We only spent one week in Adelaide, as most of the tourist books, and people we had spoke to had said that one week would really be all that we would need.. and they were right!
Adelaide was a nice City, though to be honest, for people our age there wasn't much to do, and there was nothing really organised by any hostels, so it was difficult to really see anyone else our age! Whilst there though we spent time wandering the city, checking out the shopping places and the markets, and also the other sites around it (such as the brass pigs they have all over the city center!)
There are quite a few decent museum in Adelaide, one of which being the Museum of South Australia, which had a massive display of animals you can find all over the world. They had a lion from Africa that had a tail that moved to make people jump. We also visited the Art Museum, which had a lot of Aboriginal art, though some of it wasn't actually contributed by Aboriginal people.
We also went to go and have a walk along the river, and over to the Adelaide Cricket Oval. When we arrived there we found the gate was open, so sneaked in to get a few photos whilst no one else was there! Much better than paying to do a tour!
During our stay we also visited Glenelg, which is a beach town a tram ride away from Adelaide. It was such a nice town, everything was so neat and clean, with a great beach and lots of things like War Memorials and statues as well as independant boutique style shops.
Other than those things, it is pretty obvious to see why Adelaide gets the title "City of Churches" as you can't walk around a corner without seeing another Church. Overall, it was a nice place, but i probably wouldn't visit again!
