Cee to Fisterra My great friends Alan and Kate are in my mind today as I set off on the last few miles of my journey across Spain. When I had doubts that I could do this, Alan said to me, "Rich, you WILL walk the Camino one day". And now as I am completing my journey, I want to give them a huge thank you for all their support and encouragement both before and during the trek.
After a walk through the medieval part of Corbucion and on to the headland, the end of my journey is in sight- the lighthouse at Fisterra. We decide to keep walking through the town of Fisterra and up the final climb to the 'end of the earth'. The Camino way marker shows 0.00km which after walking for over six weeks across Spain is pretty profound. I am calm and not overcome by emotion which I thought I might be. We meet up with Mark, a great Aussie traveller and also with some of the young peregrinos later on. They have been walking since early September!
I look out over the ocean and the sun is leaving a wonderful reflection on the surface. I feel very close to all my family and friends and I hope I would have made my Dad proud. This is journey's end and I have walked across Spain from the Pyrenees to the Atlantic. I am happy, very happy......

Phil & Jayne Brilliant Brilliant Brilliant Rich. What an incredible achievement for you both, the Camino, done and dusted. We watched The Way last night with Mum and she was over whelmed, a very proud moment for her and you know,Dad would also have been very proud. What on earth are you going to do now? All the best and safe journey.
Peter Hayes Hi Rich, This achievement is such a huge tick on your 'life' CV! I am sure that sharing the experience during your one million plus steps makes it all the more special. Very proud of you bro! Peter
Carol Frey It makes me so happy, Richard, to read how happy you are at the O.OO marker. Ed and I feel quite lucky to have had the chance to accompany you on Day 1. Now, it's a little anticlimactic to say "safe travels home" -- but of course you'll go home safely! Enjoy the ride, Carol
Margita I've heard said that the end of the Camino is just the start of your pilgrimage.!! Much Love, Margita
