India and Nepal 2022
I had only been walking for a few minutes on the way to school when I was beckoned over to join in a dance to the very loud music played on drums and horns at a local wedding party. A young man I had never met before offered me a lift on his motorbike to go the school which I accepted. I am getting into the swing of life here in the village and I had a nice welcome at the school from children and teachers alike. I did a bit of research in the school library and then did some teaching with the class 10 (aged 14 to 16) group. Class sizes still amaze me - 40 to 50 is normal. My session seemed to go down well and I enjoyed it. School day goes so quickly and I took a slow walk down into the village savouring this experience. I like the late afternoon atmosphere and the chance to observe normal life for people who live in this part of Nepal.
