Nat's Adventures
These early mornings are definately taking their toll on our Sarah!
Up at 0815 for meeting at 9 to see what people can do about saving the dogs of this town. The local authorities have been feeding them poison and several dogs were left dead in the street yesterday! Sickening, we thought the dog we saw had been run over. People are saying the dogs are being killed because they have been eating the goats and monkeys, have rabies, there are too many of them and a general nuisance. I'd happily ship them all home to you mum! Only a little can be done by passing through travellers, as authorities are asking for dogs to be licensed (for only 50rupees) and identification of owner and address kept on collar.
After atgging a few dogs with scarves i met up with Sarah for our Hindi classes. Easier than i thought it would be! But still a long way to go. Sarah getting very impatient, on the verge of being rude to teacher, but she's aware of this and working towards inner peace! (i just quoted this last sentence to her and she sayd she is not a difficult person) Mum/Dad?
Off to Amritsar tommorow to see Golden Temple and out to Pakistan border to witness the closing of the border cermony - if its safe to go out that way with all these bombings/attacks in mumbai and jammu & Kasmir.
Not the happiest of emails but just to let you know of the crazyness going on around here.
Just heard that a group went down to the President building and the dog killing orders have been stopped until another solution is found.
