Nat's Adventures
Arrived here from long uncomfortable bus journey from amritsar. Also got slyly groped by the man beside me, which pushed me over the edge with India! I can't imagine what it is like for women travelling alone here. You need to get city link bus from first bus station if you chose to go by local bus.
Our hotel was walking distance from bus station so very handy (Satyadeep Hotel) reccommened by the south african Michelle that we met in Amritsar. OIne of our pricier places at 750 ruppees, downgraded on last night but we slept with an army of ants arund us that night!
We chose Chandigargh as we had met a fmaily from there and they had invited us to see the sights - or so we thought. The husband picked us up wit a mate of his and drove us around, took us to a nice golf club, out through the country and up to yet another hill station. So didn't really see much of Chandigargh that day and were away for 12hrs with these bizarre men! A bit sketchy at times so you'll be surprsed we haven't kept in touch with them.
The next day we took the city tourist bus and visted a man made lake?, a university? and the rock garden. The rock garden is definately worth a visit.
Off to Kolkota next -a 33hr train journey.
