Monday - Raining
Well I'm glad we had a rest day yesterday because today is going to be quite long. We had to catch the night bus from the Gare Saint-Jean at 10:30pm to Madrid.
We checked out at 11am and walked to the station and put our bags into day storage lockers. Then we went to a printing place and printed off all our trip confirmations. It cost a mint!
We then went for a walk around town we passed the cathedral and headed for old town. The rain was on and off all day. When it became too heavy we took shelter in a shopping centre, and while we were there we picked up some lunch.
We continued our walk through the refurbished old town and stopped in a park to have our lunch. We saw that the circus was in town. We thought about going to see a show but it was wine o'clock.
We stopped off at a wine bar near the concert hall and had a couple glasses with some chocolates. Yum Yum.
Before it got too late and the shops start closing we thought that it would be best to go and confirm where the bus stop was at the Euro lines office and then go and get some food for the bus and tomorrow morning.
Once we had done the above, we went to a Vietnamese restaurant and had some drinks and killed Kim's pho craving.
After dinner it was time to go and pick our bags up and go checkin for the bus. We managed to watch an episode of Seinfeld on the Mac and get a quick charge of the phones and iPod before boarding.
Euro lines seems to be a bit of a Ryan Air for buses. There was no reserved seating, which was weird for an overnight bus? The bus was jam packed when it turned up as well, but somehow Kim squeezed passed the herd of people (must be all that pushing in training she got in London) and scored the last two seats side by side seats. Bravo!
Well France was Francetastic! We will have to come back one day. There's still so much to go and see, and always more Vins to drink. Not to sure where the stereotype of the French being rude came from either, the three times that I have been here they have been very friendly and helpful. They are crazy drivers that's all.
