It's my anticipated day! We're out to the Great Barrier Reef on the sailboat, the Passions of Paradise. We were told that this reef system is the largest in the world, holds 6 out of 7 turtle species in the world, and is the only living thing that can be seen from outer space! However, the sea was quite rough and the winds were pretty strong despite the good sunny weather, so I was already vomitting before I had a chance to dive into the water. After being issued some stinger suits and gear, I was off on a small dive boat with 5 other qualified divers. It was freezing cold on my first dive, and I couldn't really regulate my breathing, so I couldn't really enjoy the beauty of the reef! There was only two of us left going for the second dive at the paradise reef, and this time I really enjoyed it as I've got used to the cold! We spotted stingrays, cuttlefishes, pufferfishes, and so much corals and reef fishes of all sorts and types. It was absolutely stunning! Dinner was shared pizza amongst my tripmates on the veranda and we shared our adventures of those who went skydiving, walking in the forest or relaxing in the city of Cairns. Time for some well-deserved rest!
