After umpteenth times of Alan reminding us it's going to be a good day because we're visiting 'the LARGEST sand island in the WORLD' (yes, I know, I got that...) We were finally starting our day! We were picked up by the Fraser Island Discovery bus, and we had to fasten our seatbelts since we're on a four-wheel drive (4WD), but we never knew how bumpy it would be! I was sitting right at the back with Danielle and Michael, and luckily I took my motion sickness pills! So we're off to take a 5 minute ferry to rainbow beach just across noosa river and it was a roller coaster right for 2 hours! But we all became so tired from the rocking motions, we all ended sleeping through most of the bumps and shakes. I was told I almost hit the ceiling! We had a tea break along rainbow beach, and the group of ous decided to create our very own human alphabets along the beach... S ... T... A... and snapshot! (: We then took a drive down to Lake Mckenzie for a dip in the freshwater lake. Such a stunning view! The water was brilliantly clear and cool against our warm sun-kissed skin, and there were little turtles right near where we were swimming! Mark our driver told us in his commentary that the sand that was in the lake was probably at least a million years old.. Incredible! Lunch was prepared in an enclosed cooking area to fend off the dingos who will attack for food. We had either steak, fish or frittata, and enjoyed them with drinks surrounded by the traquility of the nature. Peaceful! We took a short bushwalk into the forest to get our digestive systems working before jumping on board the 4WD for our long bumpy ride back home. Mark mentioned that he was a snakecatcher as well, and sure enough, we had a good show watching him drag a snake off the road on our way back! Brr.. Dinner was a cosy affair at a bar area with lots of entertainment, including pool, pingpong, foosball, books, television and of course a bar. It's Mother's Day! How can I not forget calling home to wish mummy a Happy Mother's Day <3.
Broke my favourite sanuk on my way back to the Normads! Upset much. Oh well...
