It's a freezing morning today! After a tasty spread of breakfast including eggs, bacon, cereal and toast, we stopped by the Tropic of Capricon for a few snapshots, which was the imaginery line that circles the Earth. After another few hours, we arrived at our destination, Kroombit Farm! We were all glad to be alighting from the bus after a bumpy ride, and a few of the cowboys at the farms gave us a warm welcome and helped us with our check in to our rooms before we had some grilled lunch at the main shed! Such yummy farm food! Having a full lunch was good as we headed to our main highlight of the day, either horse riding or quad biking! I chose horse riding, and the few of us hopped on to the back of a jeep that took us to the stables, where we had to hang out at an enclosed area lest we got into the way of the horses and end up getting kicked by them. I was feeling quite apprehensive as I have never rode a horse before After signing the indemnity forms and donning our helmets, we were assigned horses according to our competency level and how comfortable we were with horses. I was obviously the beginner! Buttons the horse was assigned to me, and I was asked to mount the horse on the platform and walk the horse around for a while before moving over to an area to wait for the rest. Once everyone mounted their horses, we headed to the land which holds out tasks for the day, which is goat mustering! It felt so scary to be entrusted with a horse, but it felt great once I got used to it! Well, minus the fact that I had short reins for my wide horse and my poor horse was confused by me. We had to find the goats and round them back to the farm area for the evening and we had to shout "Hey papa, hey papa" (sounding something similar) to get them moving. We had to be really careful not to be trampling on these goats who were much smaller as compared to our horses. After we rounded the last few goats, we rode back to the stables to retire our horses for the day before moving over to the rodeo arena for some goat rodeoing! We had to be in teams of 3, where Danielle, Rhiannon and I called ourselves "Girls Who Stare At Goats". We were trained how to use the ropes to rope goats in before entering ourselves in the competition. It was a time challenge where each team had to rope in a goat, straddle it, brand it for 3 seconds before dragging it to another holding aread and locking the door as fast as they can. We came in second! (: Before dinner, we went out to watch the sunset before enjoying our roast dinner and chilling out by the campfire, listening to the stories of the history of Kroombit Farm. It's going to be a cold night!
