It's my first flight alone to Australia! Feeling nervous but more excited about my adventure! After a night at the Gilligans, I met up with my trip mates bright and early in the morning on board the Topdeck Tour - Island Suntanner Reverse. Since I'll be spending two weeks with these people, there'll be plenty of time for me to know them! Upon being introduced to our guides, Alan and Deano, we were on board the Topdeck bus (aka Heidi) and off we go! We were driven to the beachside to meet the Kuku brothers who introduced to us about the tribes in Australia and their history. They also taught us how to spear for food. He warned us about sharks, stingrays and crocodiles in the are, which got us worried! Luckily we did not meet any of them We managed to catch some crabs and shellfish which they cooked it with vinegar and some 16-year-old chilli. It was delicious! We headed to the wildlife habitat in Cairns next, where we had lunch with the birds and went looking for koalas and got a chance to feed those cute kangaroos and wallabies. I also found out that emus and kangaroos are the two animals in Australia who cannot walk backwards. Interesting! After spending a long day out, we returned to Cairns where we checked into our hotel and went for dinner at a local bar. It was our first dinner together, and we shared some food, drinks and travelling stories. What a good start to my trip!
