Firstly, HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL.
Good, ok, that avoids having to send cards out. The good news is i am feeling a heck of a lot better. Physically i am fine, still being careful what i eat, but taking the right precautions. Mentally, i feel a little closer to the end, and am nearing the last lap at the orphanage. I will make the most of my time left with the kids. The above picture shows them peforming their nativity play at Hisani. This morning (sat) i watched them singing songs and doing the same play for an audience of locals and 5 other orphanges at the Tanzania Assemblies Of God Church in Gedelli (near Buswelu). I videoed it, I looked at what i had done and it was good.
Apparently you have had severe frosts in England... flights disrupted... cricket cancelled. Is that right? Right here it is hot and sunny. Guess where i would rather be? I factored that one into my recent decision to stay! How do you say it? "WISH YOU WERE HERE" !
It looks like i may have company after all for Kili - a swedish girl called Kristina! She is planning on arriving in Moshi a few days beforehand. Don't think she has got much equipment but think she is prepared to hire it. I may even be able to go on one day's safari, from Arusha (which is equally near to Kili). The plan is still to leave on Sat 7 Jan, probably flying, although i still may take an internal bus. Think i will avoid Uganda and Kenya now, though, as i tentitively planned.
Today, tomorrow and Christmas Day I will eat out. Although most shops will be closed, most restaurants will be open. I might even be going to the Beach on Christmas Day. Tha'ts the current plan. I am unlikely to get online again until next Thursday or Friday. Classes will begin again next Wednesday - 27th - and i will have renewed energy for that.. then it is only one more week of 'teaching' before heading to Moshi.
Will be going to church again tomorrow (sun) and Christmas Day, and will be singing 'Fairytale Of New York' at Hisani, amongst others. I sang 'Three Little Birds' to them the other day, but nobody cheered. They just want to see Tom doing impressions of Westlife and John Mayer.
Still, i do dream about coming home... i lay awake at night planning the DVD. But I think I have enough to occupy my time until then.
If you haven't already check out the new photos which i posted the other day.
So, bye for now and, once again, HAPPY CHRISTMAS and a MERRY NEW YEAR!
