The return to fitness didn't quite pan out. After being sick again on Saturday, having stupidly eaten meat (against Doctors advice), I started to feel weak again by Tuesday. Not knowing if i wasn't coming down with something different or what it was i returned to the hospital on Wednesday. It seems that the anti-malarial drugs I have been taking are notorious for causing extreme fatigue. But I also needed to complete the course. I have done this now, but I had the take the last 2 days off and will not return to Buswelu properly until Saturday. I stayed in a dirt cheap 'guest house' last night which made me very depressed, so today I booked myself into the plush surroundings of Hotel Talipia, by the Lake.... a day and night's R & R, aboard the African Queen. Not sure yet if it is actually the boat from the Bogart/Hepburn film... someone said it was but i am not convinced. I am staying in the 'Marley Suite'.
Its a shame not have been around more for the new volunteers first week, but I really felt dreadful. No energy. Now, just as I getting it all back together again - energy wise - i realise that my phone (which i said had gone missing) has been used to the tune of over 1300 pounds within a 3 week period. It appears I could be liable because i didn't contact my operator to say it was stolen.... trouble is, i didnt know, as i bought a Tanzania phone/SIM etc and had been using that, so didn't realise until it was too late! Hopefully i can sort something out.
Anyway, signing out for now from the African Queen.. hoping i have the renewed energy levels and determination to face the last 4 weeks. Meanwhile, check out some new photos..
