Hello again! So Iam now in downtown Guadalajara, Mexico. Its been along journey to get here, and I´m still a little bit unsure of where I am going next. After the concert in Vegas,I drove all night back to San Diego to drop off the car, but as per usual I kinda mis judged the distance. It took a little over eight hours, but I had to stop and sleep for 2-3 hours so it took even longer. Then when I got back to San Diego I got lost! To cut a long story short I missed the plane! So after yet again crossing the boarder back into Tijuana, I caught a taxi to the airport. Another additional 30USD´s and I got a flight about 2 hours later than originally booked. Tijuana airport is quite new, but they seem to have forgotten to install scanners for the bags, so everything is checked by hand infront of everyone. Interestingly, they never checked my hand luggage! The flight was about 2 1/2 hours, and for most of it I was asleep. So I decidedt that it would be a good idea to take some Spanish lessons whilst I was here. So I booked in for one week at a school, and a home stay with a Mexican family. My only problem was that I hadn´t taken down the address of the home stay, and only the school. I had previously arranged for the guy that ran the school to pick me up. (b*****!) So I got a taxi to take me to the school, where I stayed one night in a hotel. (and let me tell you cheap hotels in Mexico are cheap!) It was Sunday (Domingo) night when I arrived in the town - called Tlaquepaque (with a sorta silent T). The place was partying big time and I thought it must have been a Fiesta or something, but I laterfound out that this was normal for a Sunday! The following day, I was woken to the sound of several trumpets warming up!, yet it was only six in the morning. It then dawned on me that I had gone through a time change! It turned out it was 2 hour ahead there, so I end up being late for the school! The school was started by a Dutch and an English guy 4 years before, and although it was only small, it was really cool. I had 4 hours a day of lessons, with two teachers. The teachers were called Gabbrielle and Karol (with a K Julia!!) The lessons were one on one! and let me tell you 4 hours a day is a killer. I couldn´take it! My brain was mashed! towards the end of the week,I was even clock watching! how bad is that! on the last day the teacher even over ran by 15 minutes!! Ahhhhh no more! I ran from the school screaming! ahhhh! The home stay was cool, and the house was huge. It was owned by a woman - Alicia in here 60´s and her daughter lived there too, though I only met her twice. (Shame!) The food was good, although I think I´ve eaten stuff I probably never will again! - I even had chilli with my breakfast! I´m now in downtown Guadalajara in a hostel, were everyone seems ro be Spanish!, but today an English girl arrived, which is cool. Still trying to decide where to go next..............will let you know soon! PJ xxxxxxxxxxxx
