Playing in mud . . .
We arrived earlier than expected just though it was a 12hour bus trip, once off we walked to the sons and daughters hostel where we dumped our bags, grabbed our stuff and went for brekkie and a paddle in the sea. We bumped into Teri at the hostel who had had her bag nicked on the beach the day before (we met her on the sapa trek and then she rode past us on a bike in hoi an) We booked the open bus ticket time for the next morning as time is slowly ticking away in Vietnam.
We got a mini bus with a few other randoms to the mineral water and mud baths. We did as follows,
Hot shower (I found cold), 15min mud bath but we got longer, which we were sharing with a mother and daughter from us but living in Saigon. We poured mud over our heads and chilled, where the mud makes you look like a hairy monkey. Bathed in the sun til the mud dries, which once dry and you move hurts as your skin becomes all wrinkly and weird. Hot mineral shower to cleanse the body, followed by hurtful mineral jet sprays for 5mins, really painful, have to watch where the boobs are positioned and I'm sure another body part positioned for guys. We then dove into our hot mineral bath, meant to last 45mins, but we all lasted about 5, it was just too hot. Finishing with the pool, the first one we jumped into to get the refreshing cold water effect, only to find the swimming pool too was hot hot hot. But we were saved as a secret pool was behind which was cold, thank the lord, I can't do hot baths at home for more than two mins.
Back in nha trang at 1ish we went to the post office where Laura sent her coats home. Then we chilled out by the beach, although not very chilled as a constant eye had to be kept as lots of people have their bags stolen here. We had a dodgy guy behind us on the deserted bit of beach we had found hoping for peace and quiet, when I went for a pee in the sea I turned round and saw the guy beckon his kid over, so I was rather concerned they were going to rip the bags from Laura so went and stood next to her sunbathing, hands on hips staring at the guy until him and the kid left. It just gets annoying that you have to do such things.
I did some yoga next to our showers and toilets up on the roof while a guy watched confused brushing his teeth. xx
