Busy, busy day in Berlin today. The weather finally got nice, and we took full advantage of it, gallivanting across Berlin with the help of a day pass for the transit system. Started our day by taking an air raid shelter tour put on by a local company that clears out old underground sites and restores them to the historical conditions. After the Berlin Wall, we went to the far west edge of the city to the Olympia Stadion. Berlin was awarded the '36 Olympic Games in 1931, and Hitler and the Nazi Party set out to use the Games as a propaganda tool to display Nazism to the world. The Stadium itself is an impressive structure, having been renovated in the early 2000's, and the surrounding athletic fields are very nice as well. Luckily enough, the Batmobile was right across the street from the Tiergarten's Soviet War Memorial which, though cool and having two artillery pieces and two tanks, pales in comparison with the one we saw yesterday. Also saw the Reichstag on our way back to the hostel. Phenomenal building. Planning to book a tour for Saturday or Sunday.

Most surprising part of the day? Finding the Batmobile from The Dark Knight Rises in the Tiergarten. Drool.
