Can't believe how quick this week has gone I really can't. The day to leave Australia has finally come and it feels like I've only just got here. Crazy times.
I got all my stuff together and made sure the right stuff was packed in the right bag, last thing I wanted was to be stopped! We got down to check out just before 10. Damien's shuttle left at 10 past so Chris and I waited and said goodbye. He's going on to a months tour of Asia. Quite jealous but glad I'm going to New Zealand. Damien left and then there was just Chris and I. As the weather was really nice and sunny we decided to have one last go on the ferries to take some nice pictures. We went over to Circular Quay, under the bridge and by the Opera house. We grabbed some breakfast and then had to get the ferry back so I could get my shuttle at 1pm. I said goodbye to Chris who is coming over to New Zealand too but about a week after me. My travel card still had a day and a half left so I gave it to him to make use of. And that was it. I was on the way to the airport and onto the last leg of my trip. I was a bit teary on the shuttle but pulled myself together and focused on what was next. I checked in and then got pulled over for a 'random' search of me and my bag. Obviously I look suspicious with a set of stitches in my eye?! That was all fine and by the time I'd changed my money and wandered round it was time to board. The flight was good, except for the fact I was sat next to the fattest Asian man ever. His belly was hanging over my armrest, covering the controls to my tv. Damn, this was awkward. I couldn't even get my headphones in without having to move some flab aside. I sat wondering how I was going to do it for a bit an then went for it. He felt me struggling and moved over slightly and I smiled awkwardly and said thanks. Still didn't get round the volume button issue though. I spent some time deciding what to watch and pressed play. The I spotted he'd moved slightly so I quickly turned it up, only to find it was too loud and he'd returned to covering my controls again. Brilliant. Luckily, I realised that I could do it on the screen instead. Such a dumbass.
Before long we landed and I was in a taxi to my hostel. I'd booked my own room which was a result as it was at least a bit of privacy. I was however, opposite the bathrooms where a big group of loud Americans had decided to gather and discuss life for the next hour or so. Jesus, someone really hates me! I managed to get to sleep eventually but really looking forward to not hearing people in corridors every night!.....
