Thankfully this morning was sunny. I'd arranged to go to Bondi Beach with Rhys and Fiona so was up and ready by 10. Fiona came to my hostel to meet me and we got the tube over to meet Rhys who was already at Bondi Junction waiting for us. Just as we were leaving my hostel, Rob was checking out and flying home so we said our goodbyes - another one bites the dust.
From Bondi Junction we got the bus to Bondi Beach. We grabbed a MacDonalds and then took a walk along the beach. Sadly they weren't filming Bondi Rescue right now but we still saw the tower etc! We started the Bondi to Coogee coastal walk and did about 2 of the 3km before we got the bus back in fear of it raining! I suggested getting another bus up to Watsons Bay and getting the ferry back from there so that's what we did. Watsons Bay looked lovely in the sunshine and the ferry back took us round past the opera house from a different side which was cool. We jumped off at Circular Quay, Rhys went to Manly and Fiona and I wandered round the shops before getting the ferry back to Darling Harbour. We wandered a little bit more round the shops and then headed back to our hotel/hostel, checking out places for dinner on the way. Had a bit of a chill at the hostel before those still standing went out for one last meal - Fiona, Alan, Damien, Chris, Rhys and me. We ended up in the Cargo Bar on Darling Harbour. We all had dinner and after a lack of decent cheese the past month, Alan treated me to a chessboard platter to go with my wine - awesome! I was worried I was turning in to my father but the cheese tasted so good I didn't care! Whilst we were sat in the bar, they played our first Contiki coach song from the outback - right from the beginning of our tour, almost as if someone was bringing all full circle and to an end. Very strange feeling but it was nice to leave on a happy note!
We walked back round the harbour, taking it all in one last time. I was really sad to be leaving such an amazing place but I kinda had to. We said bye to Alan, Fiona and Rhys and promised to catch up back in the UK. The rest of us went to the hostel to gather up our stuff, ready to leave in the morning. It was at this point I realised that I really missed my own space, privacy and my bedroom. But then I remembered why I was doing this and what a wicked time I was having, and everything seemed ok again.......
