This morning was the first day without the group and waking up knowing that was really strange! I had wifi at the hostel so I managed to find the coach song and play it to the girls on the bunk below me, much to their amusement. in the mean time, Damien and Chris had checked into the same hostel so came down to say hi to us. The weather was good so we decided to go exploring and have a look around. This should have been the point where I realised flip flops wouldn't be appropriate, but I'm British and any bit of sunshine means flip flops.
We headed first to the Sky Tower to see how busy it was. It wasnt too bad so we bought tickets and headed up there. The view was amazing. We spent a fair while up there taking photos and looking at the views before heading down to meet Shane, who didn't want to go shopping with his girlfriend Krishma and her cousin! I quickly ran into Thomas Sabo and bought my koala charm for my bracelet so I was happy with that! Circular Quay was the next port of call and we caught the free bus round. Everyone loves a free bus. We walked along looking at the harbour bridge and then headed up to the Opera House to have a look round. I actually think it looks better from a distance to be honest, but it was nice to have gone in and looked round. Shane booked tickets for him and Krish to go to the ballet tonight and after that he had to go and meet her, while we walked up to the Rocks and had a drink in Sydney's Oldest Pub. We were trying to cover as much as we could today so we walked back through the Botanical Gardens to have a look. Nice place but the sun had gone a bit by then so would have been nicer in sunshine I think. We got back and got ready before heading off to Chinatown for a Thai curry for dinner (lush). We met Shane and Krishma in Darling Harbour after the ballet and went for one last drink with them as they were heading to New Zealand tomorrow. Was a nice chilled evening - good times with good friends......
