I like old things I am not sure why. I have always been drawn to older houses and buildings and history that goes with them. If I do not know the history I imagine what it might have been. There is a kind of energy when you walk around these places and imagine the life in the 1800's. My first stop in New Mexico predictably was La Mesilla, (roughly translates as The Small Table). Mesilla became part of the United States in 1854. La Mesilla has retained much of its original character abode buildings and tiny, tiny streets. In the 1800's Mesilla was a social center with entertainment, dances, and bars and frequented at times by outlaws. Not sure I qualify.
