I took a wrong turn on the way out of town and drove into the cemetery. I don't think you are supposed to drive through the cemetary. But what is one to do when there is no turning around unless driving over graves is an option. The graves are adorned with flowers (paper I think) and statutes it is the most colorful cemetary I have seen. I could not get a good picture because I thought best to get out of where I was quite sure the car did not belong. It looks festive. Seems this place has been the burial place since the 1800's. It is the dead end of a residential street with houses on each side leading up to the cemetery. I think it would be awfully convenient to have a cemetery just down the street, short trip and the family could visit often. What do you think Amy, La Mesilla here you come? I wondered about the stories behind the lives, moms that died young was it child birth, how many kids did she leave, long ago buried folks with fresh flowers who is bringing them and where are they were they passing through or are they local. I carefully navigate the short distance and get back to the entrance. I saw no sign of Billy the Kid.
