Hey everyone!!
As I'm writing this, my body is aching from the low ropes course we did on Saturday. We had to do such things as trust falls (where you fall backwards off a platform and pray to God people catch you), getting lifted through a spiderweb rope thing, and climbing a 12 foot wall. Needless to say, I'm still in agony. My muscles are like dead, but it feels good of course! I actually ended up crushing my finger on the wall because I was on top helping lift people over it. I was holding the rope as a 200 pound guy climbed up, and unfortunately my finger got caught between the platform and the rope as he was climbing, and I couldnt remove my hand or he would have fallen. Talk about taking one for the team...hahaha. I'll be fine!!
My good friend here Heidi and I went to mass yesterday, and it was quite an experience. It was all in Italian (obviously) so it was a little hard to follow. But actually, since mass is very repetitive and I have a pretty good idea of what is being said when, I think I picked up on the language a little more. For example, la pace means "the peace" so when we shook hands I got to test it out and say "pace" to everyone. Yay for me! haha.
Let's see, what else. OH! We started booking our flights for our first travel break here coming up in a couple weeks. There are 6 of us going together: Jess, Jared, Kristen, Katy, Heidi, and me. (hey mom, was that correct grammar??) ANYWAYS, we are going to Berlin, Munich, and Prague. I'm sooo excited!! The people here that I hang out with have really big hearts and I really enjoy being around them, so I think this trip is going to be a lot of fun. It's also going to be interesting because I just booked an overnight train from Munich to Prague that is 10 hours long, and the discounted prices were based on availability ( I got mine for 39 euro instead of 109 euro). The only problem is I was the last one to get it for that price, and Heidi had to buy hers for 59 euro. Long story short, but after Heidi got her ticket it was full, so the rest of our group were not able to get tickets. They are going to be on a train 6 hours earlier than us. Basically, I'm pretty much alone on an overnight train coming from Germany. Do I speak German? uh, no. It should be quite the experience. Talk about culture shock, haha.
I might not be able to write in here for a couple days because I start the Rapport Leadership Breakthrough program tomorrow which will last until thursday night. This is the one that is extremely intense. I'm soo excited for it, and I can't wait to push myself! I'll definitley have to let you all know how it goes.
Love you all and miss you!!!
Ciao!
