SO....the last one...
We spent our last few days in Palolem, which is completely empty, everyone has left us, as the RAIN is coming! So we moved into our room, which has a telly...beautiful! Spent most of the days at the beach, socking up the sun, the last of the rays...I played some bat and ball with one of the Indian boys we have made friends with.
So we met up with all our frwneds on the last night, as they are all leaving in one day. So had a curry with Neil who filled us in on all the gossip...much gossip has happened....the australian girl and her 2 indian friends are still all here, but not much 'fun' sleeping happening any more as neil has taken a fancy! Naughty boy....so him and the australian girl are off to some place else together, and the Indian boys are staying in Goa a bit longer....so our only friends left!
SO...spent the whole day with the Indian boys, especially the 17 year old...we felt like we were the babysitters...or even mothers! I, rose, got up at 5.30am to walk to an Island with him to watch the sunset...something I have wanted to do for a long time, but as there are CRABS meg cant manage it....its a fear!! So that was grand! Had a lovely morning swim in the sea and then at 7am it started pouring with rain! So the morning we watched films untill it had stopped! The sun game out....BEACH TIME!! The boys are actually in the same hotel as us, so chill with them. However the 17 year old is off back home, so had to bode farewell to our child, he was a lovely boy!
Nect day spent the day watching telly and by the sea side...general pattern of the week. The rain is seriously starting...after eating our Masala Dosa (last one) we went out in the rain had a dance and then had a swim....the water was mental, it was great fun. Had a fullpower time that night...then home for the 9pm film. Oh we have started having an afternoon drink of RUM and sprit....as we have a little cash left, tis is our choice of drink....what else would it be!! oh yes, in the afternoon we had a massage...it was a Kerala one...not just your average massage....you are covered in oil, which contains sand....and its one big marinading of the body, which an exfoliation at the same time...weird weird weird! We were soooooo oily....tan might have just been scrubbed off too!!
The last day.....film in the morning, after a traditional breakfast, which our friend Baba....he has a stall by the beach and makes cheap cheap food, like noodles, rice, omlettes, chana masala....so had our favourite breakies, me, chana masala with chapati, Meg a fullpower omlette in a bun (spicy) with CHAI! So then headed to the beach for the final rays, seeing as the tan was scrubbed off....turn up at the beach to find it has been FLOODED....the rain is so much, there is no beach left!! But us Brits wade out and search the beach for a dry patch....find a place and after 10mins....it starts to rain!! SO we thought, lets go home and drink some rum...so we did!! So lovely afternoon on our balcony watching the world go past, with some rum. Got shown a really good magic trick by Aslam, the Indian man (the fun sleeping one), he is still here as working in a shop helping his friend out!
Then headed out to supper for the LAST meal....we curried it big time....chicken curry, veg curry, popadom masala, veg pakoda, rice, garlic nan, beer and a free water...we were full full full....but man it was delicious! Amazing last meal! Half way through the power went and also the heavens opened and when I say it rained, it rained! Had to run home in the rain....we were very very wet! Got home and started to pack up...but there is no power...so back out we went to get candles! Managed to pack most things with the use of 2 candles...hald our cloths are still wet as nothing is drying!! Not a good situation to be in I tell you! AND men in black 2 is on the telly and we missed it!! DAMN!!
Power eventually came back and managed to pack and get ready for the morning. Finished the rum, then chatted to Aslam for most of the night!! So when at 6.20am the alarm went off and it was raining....we knew it was going to be a long trip!!
Bus at 7am to Madgoan, tuk tuk to station, 12 hour train to Mumbai which arrivd in at 10pm....one long long day! Train was not too bad, as there was plenty of food and chai, but there was one family of about 100 which had only booked on seat it seemd, as we had the whole family on our seats...we ended up covered in their children, one asleep next to meg using her as a pillow, then I had one on my lap, one behind me asleep and the another that had to sit by the window next to me!! CRAZY!! They just trust anyone with their children....Meg started an argument, which was a bit mental! As they had full control of a whole bench, meant for 3 people, 2 of those people were us....so we asked them to move....causing a rumble!! But not with us strangly, but it all sorted it out somehow, we couldn't understand!!
So got to Mumbai, got off and got a taxi....arrived at the airport where we were told that as our plane was at 6.30 we were not allowed into the airport till 3am....it was now 11pm!! GREAT...couldnt afford the waiting room as we had shared a burger and only had 80RS left!! SO....we slept on the pavement....but I say slept, we just lay down, shut our eyes, tried not to think of the dirty floor we were on and got stared at by a lot of Indians!! LOVELY JUBLEY!!
Made it to 2.30am and then went to the loo and washed in the basin, changed our clothes then headed though! The airport is pretty standard, we found a KFC and I am afraid to say we ate a burger there...the guy gave us a burger which cost 110rs and we only had to pay 80!! So no money left! Had a 45min nap then headed to the gate....we were on our way home!!
First leg was only 2 hours long, very easy. Then arrived at Muscat....the worst airport ever...no where to lay down, no nice seats, we had no money and we had 6 hours to kill....it was bad!! Only bonus was the moisterising section, so we had a great time moisterising ourselves...even put face cream in our hands and ran to the bath room for a clean!! So after hell in Muscat, we left and headed on the last plane home.....7 hours....2 films, 2 meals and a lot of wine down we arrived home....a bit dirty, very tired and not feeling too sure about where we are!!!
Got the bags, stood for a while preparing ourselves to walk out...we saw it was raining out the window....great!! Walked out hand in hand and saw the beautiful faces of our VERY excited parentals! Travels...done and dusted!
So now back home, sat in clean cloths (I have not showered yet) and feeling very strange! So the last blog entry makes me feel very sad.....on our last meal we made a speech each and it was very emotional because if you havent been able to tell from reading this....we have had the best 7 months ever in my whole life!! I have had the best best time, and I am actually dont really know what to say....Megla Chiken Face, its been sooooooooo good! Thanks!
Daaaaaaling.....it has been the BEST....Rose had a funny one in the night and didn't know where she was....we had the best lasagne made by James, and garlic bread and salad and then an amazing homemade cheese cake made by mumma D, and shortbread made by nanny....WOW....and then we rocked into bed at around 1am....i slept until 7am and am feeling pretty breezy....to be honest it feels like we never left...after no talk of rain for 2 months in England, we arrive and the heavens opened in a lovely welcoming sort of way....its cold, but not sweaty, its weird, but its nice....
Rose thanks for the bestest time, there have been highs and there have been lows, far more highs than lows of course....just the BEST! What more to say....well thanks to the blog readers of course...i hope that you feel a little like you have travelled with us, despite the very brief blogs of India! We found out the other day that Donald prints out every blog that we write...so thanks to everyone....
So long, farewell......
