So we aren't quite sure when we did our last blog but we think that we were just about to leave Palolem....
So awoke at 4.30am on Thursday with and with our lovely Israeli friends we headed to Hampi....a 1/2 hour train, some breakfast and then a 10 hour train....not a bad journey at all, saw some lady boys, feasted on train food, and generally chatted and slept....off the train in the late afternoon....over a river on a tiny boat and stayed in a hostel called 'funky monkey'.....all pretty tired had an early night....
Day two....we all hired mopeds and drove around looking at temples....Rose drove a vintage model that she named 'J.K' after one of our beloved drivers in Nepal....mine 'Sheila' after the hindi song 'my name is sheila'....Roma's was named Chapphati as we all love a chapphati.....great day driving around and a good bit of sunburn...it was SO hot! Headed back to the hostel for some food, and then back out to climb up 600 steps to a monkey temple and watch the sunset.....ALOT of red bottomed monkey's, one stole our water...i didn't exactly rebel as i didn't want to get bitten but all the same 'brave' Rose was not impressed...an evening of cards cards cards and then bed....
Day Three....after a chillaxed morning we headed across the river to see more temples.....Hampi os just incredible! There are rocks absolutely everywhere, and so many temples and WOW....google it, defo one of our favourite places....after seeing temples we headed home and had a nap.....but then one of the best evenings in India.....lots of us in a restuarant....3 guitars, i weird indian instrument, a drum, a didgery doo.....we had a band a going! Rose took drum, i took the insect repellent microphone and we had the best jamming session.....went on for hours....and then most went to bed and Rose decided to sing and drum to everyone....a little story....which then an indian man who claimed that he wanted to be her husband joined into and it was a kind of rap/story contest....it had everyone in stitches...very funny!
Day 4....we packed up our things and after another chillaxed morning we headed out to have a mooch before our night bus back to Palolem....very hot....night bus VERY bumpy....but back in Palolem now for us last week of sun....but no, at the moment it is monsooning.....see you all VERY soon!
