So.....the morning of the house boat! I just wish to stress how much we lobe this hostel and especially the man who runs it. He is amazing and by far the lovliest Indian man we have met.So we headed to the boat after a small breakie, 4 in 1 tuk tuk, it was tight. Got to the house boat which is a beaut, she gorgeous. A sitting room area, a bed room and kitchen. We just chilled in the sitting room area, got a welcoming lemon drink and then bode farewell to our darling hostel man, he's off fishing White people at the bus station! So off we set, along with many other house boats at the start but soon were alone, and my oh my is beautiful. Truely stunning, google it! Or as mumma B says 'goggle'!!! Stopped for lunch at 1ish.....the best food ever ever ever, 2 delicious coconut things, fish, rice, popadom, veg curry.....is was gooood! We ate a lot and when I say we I really mean me, rose! I finished off everything! Barnes family you would be proud! Headed off again down the back waters. Having a great chat wtih the israelite, she's a little mental, but fits in well. We talk a lot about humus and now really want to go to isreal as the food sounds great! She keeps saying she's burning for some action, but the 3 Indian men didn't make the cut!! Had snack, which was tea and fried banana, Israelite had 1, meg had 3 and I had........6.....I don't like to waste the food!! So parked up at 5, and had a wonder around....dare I say it.....barefoot!! Meg has a fear of not only cows but now the king cobra! So she ventured only a little, I went into the wild with isreal and some honeymooners from India! Watched the sun set, which was delightful as always!Chillaxed with some beats from podi, then came supper.....hello another feast. This meg joined me in eating an enourmous amount of food. It was massive, chicken curry, rice, coconut x2, chapatti, dhal.....it was fantastic and meg joined in the mass eating of food. We did Britain proud with the substantial amount of food consumed that evening!
Even was standard, excepb meg ended up with a lizard on her lap, which meant a great deal of squeals and screams but she recovered from this traumatic experience and we headed to our bedroom which had turned into a sauna roo
, it was too hotto talk amount. I think we shweated out a swimming pools load! So woke early and showered....well everyone but me did as the water ran out! Fabulous! Breakie was an omlette and loads of toast and jam, tea and the beloved pineapple! Beat pineapple everrrr!
Headed back tot the shores with the amazing views of the back waters, so green and lushous! It was a beauty trip. Our isreal friend had a train straight away so we went wih her to get a bus to kumily! So the trip in allepey was what can be conceeded as a success, we had a lovely time, lounged around..
Meg.....so waited at the bus stop for a good while trying to see our darlings love interest but she didn't appear...so waved goodbye to the israelite who had just picked out a male traveller wj

Arrived and found a place to stay run by a lovely lovely old man and then headed out for some food. We have decided to hit local food hard as not only does it taste better we get so much more for our money....a channa masala and two parotta for just 20 rupees...less than 50p. Bough some homemade chocolate and oh my it was good....we love kumily!
Day two headed out to a tea plantation and planned to pay 100 rupees each for the grand tour but it was so badly signposted that we decided to do our own tour...illegal manouvure we even managed to enter the tea testing room for free!!! Oh we love a free tour.... Headed to a spice plantation next... WOW. we saw so many things growing! From black pepper, to cocoa to coffee there was everything and our tour guide let us try so many different leaves.... We tried to hottes chilli in the world and y

Got a mornin bus and potentially we are to spend 9 days here! Arrived in the eve and it is nice....broadstairs but with an Indian flair... Cliff, loads of Indian tourists and so many crabs on the beach! It is just so dead as it's low season so there really isn't much to do.... Met the Israelite who it turns out has been getting it oooooon with the bus guy....she's so funny...we really want to go to israel now the food sounds so good!
