The Big Four Ohhhhhh
So the Big Day arrived being greeted to a living space full of balloons, banners and pressies. Alice had been up at 6 am wanting to blow up balloons (apparently!) I was a very lucky boy with loads of cards and plenty of beach ice cream and 'cold one' money, thanks all, very kind. True to being forty there were plenty of golf gifts too with a gps watch for telling yard ages from JC and Marie and the rules of golf from the P's ( I'm not sure what they're trying to tell me about my golf!) Alice presented me with an envelope with tickets to a lunch on Friday at a swanky beachside restaurant, the real surprise was that we go on a seaplane to get there, now how cool is that and how cool are my girls! More to follow on that day...
The rest of the day was spent on the beach, which for a man born on the shortest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere was absolutely awesome. Alice started her surfing lessons with Uncle Daisy too, at a beachside check a out the pics.
The evening was a fantastic dinner at a beachside restaurant called Pilu, with guest appearances from john's brother Andy from San Francisco and Sean 'The Butter Chicken' Lancaster, Sydney's newest emigre. A lovely telegram and bottle of bubbles from friends in Denmark topped off the dinner beautifully.
The party continued long into the night back at the house and in the hot tub; you'll be pleased to know cameras were banned at this point!
