Lucy's Big Adventure!
Well, last time I wrote, I said "Is it really nearly June?" but now, its actually nearly August! Where is the year going??!
Lots of things happening and lots of exciting news.... We're finally moving on at the end of July! Our time here is up for now and we're now travelling up towards Darwin & checking out the Top End of Australia. Planning on staying up in Darwin for a while and getting a job (whats that again?!) to get some money to fund the next part of the trip.
We're then hopefully coming back down in November time to stay with Guy & Susie again! November is sheep shearing time and their busiest time of year so we have offered to come and help. They have around 10,000 sheep or something silly to shear, they have a team of shearers come in to do all the shearing work. What we'll be doing is moving the sheep in and out the yards and basically doing what needs to be done!
In addition to this.. We've applied to get an extension on our visas, which gives us an extra year on top of our year we have already. I've been approved for mine already and Gavin's just waiting on confirmation of his, but pretty much definite he'll get it. Which means that we can be here until February 2010!! Sorry to those who were expecting us back sooner than that but just loving it too much!
On top of this, Gavin & I have decided to have a break from our relationship & travel together for the next part as "travel buddies" to see how things go. We're going to have some time apart when we get to Darwin and experience it by ourselves & see what happens after that. We're both very happy & feel its a good thing for us at the moment to do and certainly not ruling out getting back together in the near future.
This weekend we're going to Monkey Mia, which is a lovely beachy tourist spot not too far from here where the dolphins come up to the shore line daily. Really looking forward to that & it will be a nice change of scenery from here.
The weather is still gorgeous, despite the fact its meant to be winter, its still around 27/28 degrees. Have added a few more photos onto the website and will add more after the weekend hopefully.
Think that's all the news for now!
Love to you all xxxx
